It has already been several weeks since this autumn semester has started and we are looking back to the 2nd edition of Conquer Lugano which took place at the beginning of this semester. With this newsletter we want to inform you about upcoming events from our side and (inter)national opportunities.

Finally, it's the time of the year again where you can get your smusi-merch! From now on, you can show your "affiliation" to smusi wherever you go in public or just wear it comfy at home. 😉 It would be really cool if everyone would have a smusi hoodie and mug!

Join us on Monday for a Halloween apéro!

- When: 31.10. starting 7pm
✨There will be a beerpong tournament with an entry fee of 10.- per team. You can sign up here. ✨
🔥There will be some Halloween punch for the cost of 4.-, please bring your own mugs🔥
We are looking for people to help with the decorations & some volunteers who would make some halloween desserts, so if you’re interested just text Hannah (+41 79 899 81 82) directly. If you have any decorations which you would like to donate that would be great!

This semester's delegates assembly of smusi takes place on Monday 21.11.2022 at the East campus of USI and starts at 19:30 followed by a Pubquiz. If you are interested in taking over a position feel free to reach out to us prior to the delegates assembly (smusi@usi.ch). The delegates assembly and pubquiz does not need an inscription and we are looking forward to see you there
IFMSA general assembly march meeting 2023 – 01.-07.03.2023 in Estonia 🌎
The International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) holds its biannual general assembly (GA) meeting from 1st of 7th of March 2023 in Tallinn, Estonia. Are you passionate about Medical Education, Public Health, student exchanges or Sexual Rights? Do you want to get in touch with more than 900 medical students from all over the world? Then this is your chance to be part of the Swiss delegation and have an unforgettable experience. Medifuture is an annual conference for medical students and junior doctors which takes place on the 5th of November 2022 in Bern. It aims to give the students answers to their questions regarding their professional career. The program can be found here.

Have you ever asked yourself, how poverty impacts health care in Switzerland? Or what role global warming plays in health and disease? To what extent did the refugee crisis impact our health care system?
The CoPHR (Commission on Public Health and Human Rights) brings together medical students from all over Switzerland to learn, explore and share ideas on a variety of issues related to Public Health and Human Rights.
Our mission is to host fun and creative projects throughout the year that raise awareness and educate other students about ongoing global health and human rights topics such as equity in healthcare, refugee and migrant health or healthcare in war zones. This includes organizing events, awareness campaigns, designing social media content, hosting book clubs and much more!
